What Glutathione is
The body’s master antioxidant — shown in a six-month randomised trial to raise stores by 30–35% in red cells, plasma and lymphocytes.
Glutathione is an endogenous tripeptide (γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine) and the most abundant intracellular antioxidant in human cells. Synthesised in the cytosol from glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, it exists in reduced (GSH) and oxidised (GSSG) states whose ratio is a primary indicator of cellular redox balance. As the central thiol-based antioxidant, glutathione neutralises reactive oxygen species, regenerates oxidised vitamins C and E, and serves as a cofactor for glutathione peroxidase and glutathione-S-transferase enzymes essential to detoxification. Research applications include oxidative-stress modelling, hepatic detoxification pathways, mitochondrial function studies, immune-cell redox signalling, and dermatological tyrosinase-inhibition investigations. Its declining intracellular concentration with age and under metabolic stress makes it a key subject in redox biology, detoxification, and longevity research. Glutathione’s cysteine thiol is the cell’s main redox buffer — donating electrons, then being recycled to do it again.

03How should research peptides be stored upon receipt?
Peptides should be stored at -20°C in a sealed, dry environment. Once reconstituted, solutions should be stored at 4°C and used within 30 days, or aliquoted and stored at -80°C for longer-term stability. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
04How long does delivery take in South Africa?
Orders are packed and dispatched within 1–2 business days and delivered door-to-door by tracked courier anywhere in South Africa. A tracking number is emailed to you when the courier collects. Standard courier is R130.
