02Overview

What ARA-290 is

A piece of erythropoietin re-engineered to keep the tissue protection and drop the red-cell effect.

Each vial contains 10mg of lyophilised ARA-290, supplied as a sterile powder for reconstitution. ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide modelled on the helix-B surface of erythropoietin. It targets the "innate repair receptor", a heteromer of the EPO receptor and the β-common receptor (CD131), switching on anti-inflammatory and tissue-protective signalling in laboratory models while avoiding EPO’s red-cell (haematopoietic) effects. It has been studied in phase 2 trials in sarcoidosis- and diabetes-associated small-fibre neuropathy, and preclinically in kidney ischaemia–reperfusion injury. It holds no registration as a medicine in South Africa in this form and is supplied here strictly as research material. Findings described are from published laboratory, animal and clinical-research literature and are not statements about outcomes for any reader.

03How should research peptides be stored upon receipt?

Peptides should be stored at -20°C in a sealed, dry environment. Once reconstituted, solutions should be stored at 4°C and used within 30 days, or aliquoted and stored at -80°C for longer-term stability. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

04How long does delivery take in South Africa?

Orders are packed and dispatched within 1–2 business days and delivered door-to-door by tracked courier anywhere in South Africa. A tracking number is emailed to you when the courier collects. Standard courier is R130.
