BRAND REFERENCE
Ozempic® in South Africa — and What a Research Compound Is Instead
Ozempic® is one of the most searched medicine names in South Africa. This page explains what it is, states plainly that we do not supply it, and sets out what we do.
WHAT WE DO NOT SUPPLY
We do not sell Ozempic®, Wegovy®, semaglutide, or any prescription medicine, and we are not a pharmacy. If you are seeking treatment, the route is a registered healthcare provider and a licensed pharmacy — not a website.
Ozempic® is Novo Nordisk’s registered prescription medicine containing semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It is manufactured under pharmaceutical quality systems, carries a regulatory registration and a package insert, and is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy against a prescription from a registered healthcare provider. That chain — manufacturer, regulator, prescriber, pharmacy — is what the brand name actually denotes.
The reason the name is searched so heavily alongside unregistered products is supply pressure, and South African reporting through 2026 has documented illicit injectable weight-loss products circulating locally as a direct consequence. SAHPRA has published a position on compounded, substandard and falsified incretin products and asked the public to report sellers. Anyone offering you Ozempic® outside a pharmacy is, at best, not what they claim.
What we supply is a different category of thing: unregistered research compounds — retatrutide and tirzepatide — as lyophilised vials with third-party HPLC and MS verification and a Certificate of Analysis per batch, sold to researchers for laboratory use. Not semaglutide, not a medicine, and not for use in a person.

Questions
Do you sell Ozempic®?
No. Ozempic® is Novo Nordisk’s registered prescription medicine and we are not a pharmacy. We supply unregistered research compounds for laboratory use only, which is a different category entirely.
How do I get Ozempic® in South Africa?
Through a registered healthcare provider who can assess and prescribe, and a licensed pharmacy that can dispense. SAHPRA has warned publicly about unregistered and falsified incretin products sold outside that route.
Is retatrutide the same as Ozempic®?
No. Ozempic® contains semaglutide, a single GLP-1 receptor agonist, and is a registered medicine. Retatrutide is a triple receptor agonist research compound with no registration, supplied for laboratory research only. Different molecule, different regulatory status, not interchangeable.
Why publish this page at all?
Because the search happens and a straight answer is better than silence or a sales pitch. The most useful thing we can tell someone searching a brand name is what the name means and that we are not it.
