What PT-141 is

The melanocortin agonist that went from a melanotan-II derivative to a 2019 US approval.

Each vial contains 10mg of lyophilised PT-141, supplied as a sterile powder for reconstitution. PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a cyclic heptapeptide melanocortin-receptor agonist derived from melanotan II. It acts mainly at the MC4 receptor (and MC1R) in the central nervous system, which distinguishes it pharmacologically from agents that act on blood flow. It was originally developed as a nasal spray and later received US approval (2019) in an injectable form for a specific female indication; it is widely used as a reference ligand in central melanocortin-system pharmacology. It holds no registration as a medicine in South Africa in this form and is supplied here strictly as research material. Findings described are from published laboratory, animal and clinical-research literature and are not statements about outcomes for any reader.

03How should research peptides be stored upon receipt?

Peptides should be stored at -20°C in a sealed, dry environment. Once reconstituted, solutions should be stored at 4°C and used within 30 days, or aliquoted and stored at -80°C for longer-term stability. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

04How long does delivery take in South Africa?

Orders are packed and dispatched within 1–2 business days and delivered door-to-door by tracked courier anywhere in South Africa. A tracking number is emailed to you when the courier collects. Standard courier is R130.
