High-Performance Liquid Chromatography — the standard technique for measuring the purity of a peptide.
HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) is an analytical technique that separates the components of a mixture by pumping it through a packed column under high pressure. Different molecules travel at different speeds and emerge at different times, producing a chromatogram of peaks.
For a peptide, the area of the main peak relative to the total tells you the purity — e.g. a single dominant peak at 98%+ with only minor impurities. It is the industry-standard purity assay and the "HPLC-verified" figure quoted on a Certificate of Analysis.
HPLC answers "how pure?"; mass spectrometry answers "is it the right molecule?". A trustworthy batch is characterised by both.
