Maintenance Dose

Also known as: maintenance phase · maintenance amount

The smaller ongoing amount that holds a compound at a target level after any initial loading phase.

A maintenance amount is the ongoing quantity used to keep a compound at a steady working level once it has been established — often after a larger loading phase.

Its size relates to the compound’s half-life: the faster it clears, the more frequently it must be topped up. This is reference terminology, not dosing guidance; all compounds are for research purposes only.
