Thymosin

Also known as: Thymosin Beta-4 · Thymosin Alpha-1 · thymic peptide

A family of thymus-associated peptides; Thymosin Beta-4 underlies TB-500’s tissue-repair research.

Thymosins are a family of small peptides originally isolated from the thymus gland, involved in processes from immune regulation to cell structure. Two branches dominate the research literature: the alpha and beta families.

Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4) is a key regulator of actin, the protein scaffold that lets cells move and repair — the basis of TB-500, a synthetic Tβ4 fragment analog studied for wound healing and full-body tissue repair.

The name appears frequently in the recovery and immune research categories.
