Research peptides for cognitive & neuroscience labs in South Africa

Neuroscience and cognitive-science laboratories at Wits, UCT, Stellenbosch and the medical research councils work across behavioural, cellular and clinical scales, and the peptide literature spans all three. Much of it comes from a Russian clinical pharmacology tradition that Western reading lists have historically skipped, which is why this page treats it explicitly.

It covers neurotrophin induction, neuroprotection after ischaemia and injury, stress and anxiety neuropeptides, the neurotrophic-mixture trials in dementia and stroke, and the bioregulator cognition cohorts. It names the compounds, grades the evidence and explains sourcing in South Africa. Compounds are supplied for laboratory research only.

What this field's literature looks at

Semax is the entry point: an ACTH(4-10) analogue and registered medicine in Russia, with clinical cohorts in stroke recovery and studies showing rapid BDNF induction and transcription of several neurotrophins and their receptors. Selank, a tuftsin analogue, carries clinical anxiety data and animal work on IL-6, interferon and alcohol-related memory models. Both have human data from a single research tradition, which we weight as human evidence and label by origin.

Cerebrolysin, a neurotrophic peptide preparation, has randomised trials in vascular dementia, Alzheimer's disease, stroke and traumatic brain injury, making it the most trial-tested compound in this literature. Pinealon has clinical cohorts in cognitive decline and rat models of hypoxic neuroprotection. Thymosin β4 improved outcome after experimental brain injury in rodents, SS-31 protected neuronal mitochondria in neurodegeneration models, and oxytocin's social-cognition literature includes a large negative trial that any lab should read.

Ordering in South Africa

Neuroscience laboratories in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban receive parcels from our Johannesburg hub in one to two business days with The Courier Guy, next day in most of Gauteng. Weekday orders paid before noon dispatch the same afternoon. Lyophilised vials ship sealed with per-compound storage guidance; campus PUDO lockers are selectable at checkout. Multi-compound orders typically clear the R2,500 free-shipping line.

Questions before ordering: WhatsApp 076 680 0306 or 072 926 7667. Delivery detail for your city: research peptides in Cape Town.

Questions cognitive & neuroscience labs ask

How do you weight Russian clinical research?

As human evidence, equal to Western trials, with the research tradition named so a reader can judge. Semax and Selank are registered medicines in Russia with clinical studies behind them.

Does Cerebrolysin have randomised trials?

Yes, in vascular dementia, Alzheimer's disease, stroke and traumatic brain injury, with mixed but substantial results.

Can a university lab invoice and order multiple vials?

Yes. See the university labs page for institutional ordering; every order carries a certificate reference.

What does the certificate state?

Compound identity and HPLC purity on an independent Janoshik Analytical report.
