Batch / Lot Number

Also known as: lot number · batch number · batch · lot

The code identifying one specific production run, tying a vial to its own Certificate of Analysis and test results.

A batch (or lot) number is a unique code assigned to one production run of a compound. Everything made in that run shares the number, and it is printed on the vial or its documentation.

It is what makes quality traceable: a genuine Certificate of Analysis is tied to a specific batch number, so the purity and identity results actually correspond to the vial in hand — not a generic marketing sheet.
