A copper-binding tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys) studied for collagen synthesis, skin remodelling and hair-follicle support.

GHK-Cu is a tripeptide — glycine-histidine-lysine — bound to a single copper(II) ion. The GHK sequence occurs naturally in human plasma and declines with age, which is much of why it draws interest as a skin- and hair-focused research peptide.

It is the most cosmetically studied copper peptide: the literature explores its role in collagen and elastin synthesis, extracellular-matrix remodelling, antioxidant signalling and wound healing. This is why it appears both as an injectable research compound and as an active in topical formulations.
