GHRP

Also known as: Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide · growth hormone secretagogue · GHS

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide — a class acting on the ghrelin receptor to trigger pulsatile GH release.

GHRP (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide) is a class of peptides that stimulate growth-hormone release by acting on the ghrelin / GH-secretagogue receptor — a different pathway from GHRH. Ipamorelin is a selective member of this class.

GHRPs prompt a pulse of the body’s own GH, and because they work through a separate receptor they are often paired with a GHRH analog for a synergistic research effect.

The broader umbrella term for any compound that prompts GH release — whether a GHRP or a GHRH analog — is growth hormone secretagogue.
