Ipamorelin

Also known as: Growth hormone secretagogue · GHRP

A selective growth-hormone secretagogue (a pentapeptide) studied for pulsatile GH release with minimal effect on other hormones.

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide classified as a growth hormone secretagogue (GHS) — it acts on the ghrelin/GH-secretagogue receptor to stimulate the pituitary to release its own growth hormone in a pulsatile, physiological pattern.

It is studied for its selectivity: relative to older secretagogues it is reported to prompt GH release with comparatively little impact on cortisol or prolactin. In research protocols it is frequently combined with a GHRH analog such as CJC-1295, because the two act on complementary pathways.
