Peptides for Glass Skin
The Korean "glass skin" look, explained by the science of a healthy barrier, hydration and skin-remodelling peptides like GHK-Cu and SNAP-8.
In 60 seconds
Glass skin is the look of a strong barrier and good hydration. Peptide research adds two angles: GHK-Cu for remodelling the skin matrix, and SNARE peptides such as SNAP-8 for expression lines.
- Glass skin = healthy barrier + hydration.
- GHK-Cu is studied for collagen and repair signalling.
- SNAP-8 and Argireline target expression lines.

What it is
A copper-binding tripeptide and synthetic SNAP-25-mimicking cosmetic peptides.
What researchers looked at
Collagen and repair-gene activity, barrier function and wrinkle measures in cosmetic studies.
What’s still unknown
How much each active penetrates intact skin, and SNAP-8’s effect on its own.
Also studied for · secondary research findings
- GHK-CuGene-expression studies report that GHK shifts the activity of a large number of human genes, far beyond collagen alone. PMID 25302294
Reported research findings, mostly from cell and animal models. Not health claims; for research use only.

What is glass skin?
A Korean beauty term for clear, even, almost reflective skin. Physiologically it reflects a well-functioning barrier with low transepidermal water loss and good hydration, which lets light reflect evenly off the skin surface.
Which peptides are studied for glass-skin goals?
GHK-Cu is studied as a skin-remodelling signal for collagen and glycosaminoglycan turnover. SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) and Argireline are expression-line peptides that target the SNARE complex. They work on different causes of visible ageing. Supplied for research purposes only.
Do you stock raw GHK-Cu powder for formulators?
Yes — raw GHK-Cu powder is listed for laboratory and cosmetic-formulation research. See our guide to copper peptides in formulation for published solubility and stability data.
