Research peptides for compounding & formulation labs in South Africa

Formulation laboratories, academic pharmaceutics departments and the research arms of South African compounding operations share a literature: how short peptides behave in solution, in semi-solid bases and in delivery systems, and how to keep them intact. It is a chemistry literature more than a biology one, and this page is written for it.

It covers peptide solubility and pH stability, preservative and excipient compatibility, copper-complex behaviour, penetration and delivery-system research, and the bulk material and consumables we supply for that work. Everything is supplied for laboratory research only, with an independent Janoshik Analytical certificate of identity and HPLC purity per lot. We do not make or advise on finished preparations.

What this field's literature looks at

Short peptides degrade by hydrolysis, oxidation and deamidation, and the formulation literature maps each route to pH, temperature, excipient and light. GHK-Cu adds coordination chemistry: the copper complex is blue, chelates with competing ligands, and shifts colour or precipitates outside its pH window, which is why copper-peptide formulation papers focus on chelator compatibility. Glutathione adds redox instability in aqueous bases. Acetyl octapeptide-3 brings the microneedle and liposomal delivery literature, where penetration above a few hundred daltons is the problem being solved.

Reconstitution and storage form the practical half: lyophilised peptide stability, bacteriostatic water and benzyl alcohol compatibility, freeze-thaw behaviour and the storage conditions published for each compound. Our product pages carry that guidance and the calculator handles reconstitution arithmetic. Where a laboratory's protocol needs sterility or endotoxin testing, that is the laboratory's own work; our certificates cover identity and HPLC purity only.

Questions compounding & formulation labs ask

Why does a copper-peptide base change colour?

The copper complex is blue; competing chelators or a pH shift change its coordination and therefore its colour, sometimes with precipitation. The formulation literature maps compatible ligands and pH windows.

Do you make or advise on finished preparations?

No. We supply research material and point to the literature. Finished preparations are the laboratory's own responsibility.

Is sterility or endotoxin tested?

No. Our certificates cover identity and HPLC purity only; sterility and endotoxin testing is the laboratory's own.

Can you invoice a company or department?

Yes. Place the order and message us with the details and a purchase-order reference.
