Inflammation / Anti-inflammatory

Also known as: inflammation · anti-inflammatory · pro-inflammatory

The body’s protective response to injury; calming excess inflammation is a target of gut- and repair-peptide research.

Inflammation is the immune system’s response to injury or threat — redness, heat, swelling and signalling that recruit repair. Acute inflammation is protective, but excess or chronic inflammation damages tissue.

Modulating it is a recurring research theme: peptides such as KPV and VIP are studied for anti-inflammatory signalling, and it is closely tied to cytoprotection and tissue repair in the recovery and gut literature.
