How long a product stays within specification under proper storage — longest lyophilised and frozen, shortest once reconstituted.
Shelf-life is the period a product remains within its quality specification when stored correctly. For peptides it depends strongly on form and temperature.
A lyophilised, refrigerated (or frozen) vial has the longest shelf-life; once reconstituted, the clock speeds up and the solution should be kept cold and used within a limited window. Cold-chain handling and desiccants exist to protect it.
