Topical

Also known as: topical route · transdermal · applied to skin

Applied to the surface of the skin — the route studied for cosmetic peptides such as GHK-Cu, Argireline and Matrixyl.

Topical delivery means applying a compound to the skin’s surface, where it must penetrate the barrier to reach its target. It is the route of most interest for cosmetic-science peptides.

GHK-Cu, Argireline and Matrixyl are all studied topically for skin quality; some carry fatty-acid tails specifically to aid skin penetration. This is reference terminology only; products are supplied for research purposes only.
