SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is a synthetic peptide used in cosmetic-science research as an extension of the Argireline concept. It is studied for softening the appearance of expression lines by interfering with the SNARE complex that mediates neurotransmitter release at the muscle.
Because it targets the signalling that drives muscle contraction rather than skin structure, it is often described as a topical "peptide Botox" analogy — a research analogy, not an equivalent to a clinical procedure.
