MECHANISM OF ACTION

Tesamorelin is a stabilised synthetic analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It binds pituitary GHRH receptors to stimulate endogenous growth-hormone and IGF-1 release; clinical research has focused on its measured effect on visceral (deep abdominal) adipose tissue in HIV-associated fat accumulation.
